Happy New Year!

I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and I hope that 2015 is a really great year for you all. We had the joy of welcoming a new little boy into our family before Christmas much to the delight of his two big sisters.

I am sure that he will bring much joy to his family in the coming years and hopefully he will, in turn, enjoy being part of his family as he grows into manhood.

2014 has been a tough year for many and on the world scene it has been very distressing. I am learning not to dwell on that and am trying to appreciate the little things in life that make one's day special.

Recently I have enjoyed fiddling with photo editing tools and a family member is going to give me a DSLR camera which is never used so that will be a learning curve for me in 2015.

If I am ever feeling down these chaps always entertain me and lift my spirit. I find now that I am retired and not working with my good friends anymore that the days blend into each other and it is easy to become isolated so this year I will start some volunteer work when I find the place where I will slot in. There are always openings for volunteers in most organisations but finding the one that is 'right' will be very important for me.

I don't make New Year's Resolutions as when I did I couldn't remember what they were after a while. Ha ha! One thing I do want to do this year is change my blog header but I can't remember how I made the original one so Mr.Google and I are currently doing some research to jog my memory.

It is a hot and muggy New Year's Eve as I write this and storms are forecast over the next few days. I hope that you are enjoying yourself wherever you are and that 2015 will bring you much joy and many blessings.

Resolutions are made to be broken ... I gave up years ago when I realised that fact.

    1. I have booked into an online course that was discounted, Sue. The only problem is that I am still waiting for the DSLR camera from my brother as he lives at the coast and doesn't drive down here much.

  8. I cannot believe its 2015!! But it is today. I hope you have a lovely year. I know there have been some disappointing events happening, but I like to think there is balance in this funny old world of ours. For every bad thing, there is something good to share as well. Like Cockies! ;)

    1. I find it hard to believe we are in the new year already too as I am really not ready for it with waiting for bub to arrive for so long. When you move up the hill I will send the Cockies over to your place to eat your macadamias if you have any :-)

  12. Bugger, im glad i checked back because i cant see my earlier comment. Have i been edited, considered too "something" or did my non techy self stuff something up? Anyway, you know i would have said something so intelligent and full of grace and wit and worth printing and putting in a picture frame so i'll leave you with a simple Happy New Year, again.

  13. I just checked my mailboxes to see If I had deleted it by accident but couldn't find your comment anywhere. I am sure it would have been a very intelligent one so it definitely wouldn't have been sent to the spam box or deleted. No way :-) I hope you have a great new year. I am still trying to recover from having a baby. LOL!

  16. Nanna Chel,
The easiest way to change your header is as follows:
Sign in ---> Click DESIGN at the top of your blog ---->Click Layout ----> Click EDIT where it says HEADER in box. Click Remove image and you should be able to upload a new header.
    Hope that helps.
Your grandbabies all look lovely. And the only New Year goal I am making is to save. I think I can remember that one! Good luck with the volunteering.
    -Shiralee.

    1. Thanks Shiralee. I was doing that last night...just experimenting with the header and colours. I think I did it a more complicated way in the beginning for some reason as I had no idea what I was doing :-)
