Good luck with the multitude of beads:-)Damaria Sennehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08844894356665627961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1556636739806282968.post-56893987940959967642014-02-22T21:58:05.797+10:002014-02-22T21:58:05.797+10:00Thanks for that, J. I was thinking that the fishing line would probably be a bit more sturdy than wire. Now I just have to get around to making the chimes. :-)Nanna Chelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07500527266771727074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1556636739806282968.post-77866539676496094512014-02-22T17:35:29.437+10:002014-02-22T17:35:29.437+10:00Fishing line, some of the thicker stuff. Fishing line lasts practically forever, as evidenced by the whale that was recently rescued with more than 200 feet of the stuff entangled all around it.

It is a little wasteful of the line, but use long tails and whatever knot you like. I like the figure-eight, and the square knot. The problem with fishing line is that is bendy, but does not like to stay knotted. Huh, I wonder if there are specific fishing knots. Back in a minute.

This one looks easy: http://www.fieldandstream.com/photos/gallery/kentucky/2006/06/field-streams-guide-basic-camping-and-fishing-knots-now-more-new-kno?photo=10

Just to make it more secure, my plan, when I finally get around to making my chime for the porch, is the cover the knots with clear, outdoor silicone caulk.

I cannot wait to see yours!Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13601154555210668680noreply@blogger.com
