Sally tricks Nanna AGAIN!

As mentioned in my post Farewell Sally! I had intended writing a little story for my grandchildren so will finish it off and they can read it while on school holidays.

 SALLY TRICKS NANNA AGAIN!

Sally woke up one day and decided to change her routine as she was getting a little tired of digging for worms, feasting on the vegetables and trying to take the guinea pigs food...so she thought she would play a trick on Nanna and find a new place to hide her eggs where they couldn't be found.

She saw Leah sitting there chewing away on her breakfast so thought she would let her in on the plan.

So they had a little chat and Leah told her she shouldn't be so silly as she always laid her eggs under the lemongrass bush so Nanna knew where to find them. Leah didn't like a change in routine.

However Sally was feeling mischievous and said that the point was to trick Nanna so she would have to go looking over the whole property to find her eggs. Leah didn't think it was a good idea but told her to check out the plan with the others.

Malcolm and Barnaby were sitting on top of the shed sunning themselves and when Sally shared the plan with them they said it was a good one and to go ahead.

Bill was sitting up high on top of the power pole across the road and when Sally yelled out to him he said it was a bad plan even though he really thought it was a good one but he would never ever agree with Malcolm and Barnaby.

The Storm Bird with the red eyes had just arrived back from New Guinea where he flew to escape the Australian winter and he also thought it was a good plan and to go ahead.

Bob and his son, Robbie, had also just flown in from the north but they came from the Outback and they just thought the plan was hilarious and couldn't wait to see Nanna's face when she was trying to work out where on earth Sally's eggs had gone to.

So Sally went exploring and finally found a place in amongst the cliveas which were growing underneath the camellia tree. It was such a small space that she had to squeeze in to make herself a nest. She knew Nanna would never be able to reach the eggs even if she did find the nest.

As usual the next day Nanna went to the lemongrass plant to pick up Sally's egg but there was none to be found. She thought that perhaps Sally wasn't going to lay an egg that day so she would have another look tomorrow. Tomorrow came and went and still no egg. Then Nanna had an idea. The next day she would follow Sally when she got out of bed and see where she went.

So Sally jumped out of bed as soon as Nanna opened the door and started running. Nanna tippy-toed behind her being very careful not to make a noise but then she turned the corner and Sally had disappeared. Where on earth had she gone? Just as well Pauline was up in her tree and she told Nanna that the silly chook had gone underneath the camellia tree.

Nanna tiptoed over and peeked in and there was Sally laying an egg. At last Nanna had found out where she had made her new nest! She waited until she left and then had to try and get under the tree without being scratched by the branches...and what did she find? Four very grotty eggs that Sally thought would never be found! 'Gotcha' said Nanna. :-)

Sally was very cranky and told Nanna she was a bad sport. She decided then that it wasn't worth playing tricks on Nanna and that she would just go back to laying eggs underneath the lemongrass bush again where they could be found. Nanna was just no fun at all!
