A week of rain

Here in SE Queensland we have had a week of constant rain and have really missed seeing the sun but finally it made an appearance a couple of days ago and followed by some warm days before the rain starts up again but this time it won't be as heavy thankfully. I tipped over 10 inches of rain out of the rain gauge during this latest rain event which was nothing compared to what fell in other areas which were badly flooded AGAIN.

Plant based cooking workshop

Once again our Simple Living Toowoomba group will be holding a really interesting workshop on the 9th March. We are very fortunate to have Asher, the former owner of the Little Seed restaurant, being available to present a workshop about gluten/dairy free and plant based meals.

In the aftermath

Most of my readers are from the Northern Hemisphere so I thought I would update you about the ongoing flood crisis that has arisen as a result of Tropical Cyclone Debbie making landfall last Tuesday. As she turned into a rain depression and dropped almost 900mm (nearly 36 inches) of rain in some areas there has been widespread flooding down the Eastern coastline of Australia which involves two states, Queensland and New South Wales. That is a massive amount of rain which has to go somewhere and the city of Rockhampton is now on high alert for a record breaking flood which is expected to arrive on Wednesday. All this is happening while those up north who were hit by the cyclone are still trying to clean up and I am not sure if power is back on in some of these areas.
