So the eight of us introduced ourselves, talked, ate lunch, talked, swapped seeds, talked and then when we were all talked out we went our separate ways. Rhonda had sent along some calendula seeds for everyone and I also was given .....
... an elderberry seedling from Rhonda's tree as we haven't got one in our back yard and I am keen to see how they grow. Hopefully it won't die on me and I will give it a lot of TLC.
One of the ladies gave us all a lovely gift each. She made me a plum pudding teacosy which I just love and it fits perfectly on the teapot here in the unit. I can see I will have to buy a new teapot like that one. It looks so cute that I have left it on the teapot and hope I remember to take it home with me.
She also gave me this very pretty Tea Time Tassel Kit which I will assemble soon.
We all had a lovely time and it was great to meet up with unpretentious people of all ages with similar interests. We are all from different backgrounds and ranged in age from the young to the old (that was me) but we all got along like we had known each other for some time. We had 'met' on the forums but not in real life so it was nice to be able to put a face to a name and to get to know each other a little better.
We hope to have another Down to Earth get-together next year in Toowoomba as there are several members who live in our region. Much fun was had by all although we were probably all a little hoarse this morning. :-)
Sounds like a great time! Wish I were where you are! :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to be at a get together like that! Maybe one day...
ReplyDeleteWhat Fun. There are several bloggers near here and ive met them all but not together. You are having a lovely trip. Love the tea cozy.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely it must have been to catch up with the forum buddies. I'll look forward to one in Toowoomba. Safe trip home Chel.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice day you had! Very jealous of the elderberry tree. I will have to plant one as soon as I come home now where I have found out what they are. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Frances
