It will be a quiet one again for us this year as there will be no pitter patter of little feet. My grandchildren are up north enjoying some beach time over the Christmas break before heading back to the Outback and the dreadful heat up there. The family drove through 43C heat on the way to the coast. I complain about 36C :-)
Now that the renovations are over for the moment I am enjoying the quiet before the tradies come back at some stage next year (when we have recovered) to do some work on the laundry and then all the floorcoverings can be done in the back section of the house as there are currently none at all in the toilet and at the back entrance after the builders did some work there. We had tiles left over from the bathroom renos so will use them for the toilet and laundry floors.
Also
now that it is quiet I am having to come to terms with us being empty
nesters after so many years and it is taking some time to get used to
but I will of course. Changing course is a bit slow when you are 70.
LOL!
I know that Christmas can be a hard time for many people but I do hope and pray that you will all find joy and peace at this time despite the craziness in the shopping centres.
Have a happy and blessed Christmas.
You will reach the point where you enjoy the peace and quiet. Merry Christmas from Canada where it is -17C at the moment in our neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteGoodness me that is cold. It has cooled down here and is quite pleasant. Have a very happy Christmas.

ReplyDeleteSame to you, Nil...although I know you don't celebrate Christmas :-)

ReplyDeleteSherri sometimes quiet is good as you get older I have found.
DeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family, Chel. I am glad the temperatures forecast for tomorrow are much milder so that we can have our xmas lunch out on the verandah rather than inside with the air-con on. MegXx
ReplyDeleteMeg it is actually cool here at the moment after the heat of last Friday. No storms around either for Christmas Day as far as I know.
