That's why I don't go to craft shows!

I haven't been to a craft show for years. Now I know why....I get too tempted to buy craft supplies I don't always use. Am I the only one? Anyway it is too late now as I have already succumbed to temptation and will have to start experimenting with my new toys crafty items before I put them away and forget about them until I am in the middle of a decluttering frenzy in the future. I mean...I still have some Jo Sonja varnish that I bought at a craft show probably 20 years ago.

A cute little knitted bunny

Last week a friend linked to a tutorial on how to make a really cute knitted bunny from a square. They are really easy to make and would even be suitable for a child who can do basic knitting and sewing to make. The full instructions can be found on Jo So and Sew.

If you saw the post titled Crochet Button Necklace you may have had a look at your button stash to check out if you had the required 120 buttons to use. If you didn't you can still make a simple button necklace as all you need are a few buttons, some beading wire and a clasp.

Last week I was cleaning out some of my craft 'stuff' and came across a pattern for a crochet button necklace in an old Spotlight Get Creative magazine from 2011. As I used to do a lot of beading I thought it looked interesting and kept it but when I read through the instructions I realised you don't have to know anything about beading as you just need to know how to crochet a chain.

STOP! Don't throw out those Christmas cards!

I know that most of you are such organised little vegemites that you have already taken down your Christmas cards and are getting ready to put them in the recycle bin if you have that facility where you live. Before you do that though, take a good look at them and pick out some that you can use to make new Christmas cards, gift tags or decorations for Christmas 2016.

Easy felt star ~ Christmas tree decoration

As I mentioned in my last post, Goodbye to Simple Living Toowoomba for 2015, one of the three demonstrations held during the morning was about how to make a really easy felt Christmas decoration which would look really good on a Christmas tree. As I haven't put up our Christmas tree as yet, I took a photo of my felt star on the pecan nut tree instead :-) This would be an easy project for children to do I would imagine.

Are you preparing for Christmas? To be honest, I have been away so much in the past few weeks that I have hardly given it a thought apart from wondering what to make for my grandchildren who will be driving down from the Outback (with their parents of course) the week before Christmas.
