Happy Christmas

Well, another Christmas is upon us so I just wanted to wish you all much happiness and joy on this special day. It will be a quiet one here as normally we have my elderly sister here to join us for lunch but she is unwell this year so won't be here. I have happy memories of Christmas in the past from when I was growing up and when our children were little to give me comfort.

A new year

Well, we are at the start of another year and I wonder what 2025 will bring but I guess it is just as well that we don't know otherwise it might seem too daunting. I find that when difficulties arise, as they will, that we are given the grace and fortitude to deal with what comes our way.

A bit behind

Well, the start of 2023 has been a tad disappointing as I finally succumbed to COVID at the end of December and spent the first week of the new year in bed. At first I thought I had a bad flu and it didn't enter my mind that I had the virus until I lost my sense of taste and smell a few days later and thought I had better do  a test and sure enough I was positive.

Getting organised

Seeing as it is a new year I thought I had better get motivated and do some organising otherwise the year will be gone before I know it. I thought I would start with the lace I have been storing for years. Some of it is handmade lace which I really have no idea what to do with but don't feel right about giving it to Vinnies as I think it may have been given to me by someone in my hubby's family about forty or so years ago. Anyway, it looks nice and neat at the moment and perhaps I will decide what to do with it during the year.

Happy New Year!

At the time of writing it is Sunday the 29th December and tomorrow at this time I hope to be on my way to Townsville to spend a few days with my grandchildren while they are holidaying there. I must admit I am not looking forward to being in the Tropics in summer but it will be worth it to see the little ones and the now not so little ones. Hopefully I can schedule this post to publish on New Years Day.

Being slack!

While a lot of bloggers seems to be very organised and prepared for the New Year I have been slack once again and am dragging the chain. Funnily enough I just had a look at my post this time last year Onward and Upward into 2018 and I was the same then so obviously turning 70 hasn't improved my organisational skills. LOL! Mind you, my excuse this year for being unprepared for the New Year is that I have read four books this past week. Oops!

Onward and upward into 2018!

Well it is the end of another year! I really haven't given a lot of thought to making plans for 2018 as that is quite daunting to be honest. Some major repairs need to be done to our house and there will be some major arm twisting to get that done I think. Until I get that organised I will concentrate on the 'little things' in life that bring joy and don't cost any money or arm twisting at all.

Date Slice Soap

It is the last day of 2016 and while most sensible people are looking back over their year and planning for the coming one I have been making soap as I just couldn't say goodbye to the year without doing a little more experimenting. As it turned out I should have just made the time to do some contemplating as the batch didn't turn out as I had planned....at all!

What are YOUR plans for 2016?

Happy New Year to all my readers wherever you live! I hope and pray that it is a very happy and healthy year for you and your families. I don't make New Year resolutions but when tidying a drawer today I did come across a list I had made on New Years Eve last year of goals I would like to achieve that were doable and fairly simple and I was pleased to learn that I could cross nearly all of them off my list.

Happy New Year!

I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and I hope that 2015 is a really great year for you all. We had the joy of welcoming a new little boy into our family before Christmas much to the delight of his two big sisters.
