Once again ~ Good Onya, ONYA!
Last August I wrote a post called Good Onya, ONYA and I must repeat myself again as I have recently come across some new to me products that are now available. At the time of writing that post last year the War on Waste series had been showing on the ABC and last night the War on Waste: The Battle Continues commenced and it was equally as shocking and motivating. We had a War on Waste workshop in August last year and, if anyone is interested, Margy has notes with links on the Simple Living Toowoomba website about zero waste, reusable coffee cups etc.

Some crafty projects
At our recent Simple Living Toowoomba Recycling Fabric Workshop I met some very talented ladies and asked them to send me some photos of their projects so I could show my readers what a clever bunch they are.

Certainly one of a kind!
A few days ago I heard about a new Op Shop (Thrift Shop for my Northern Hemisphere readers) in town. Well it was new to me but apparently has been open for a couple of months already. So I called in today to check it out and was pleasantly surprised.

Workshop on finding meaning in what we wear
Today our Simple Living Toowoomba group had the pleasure of hosting the delightful Jane Milburn, author of Slow Clothing:Finding meaning in what we wear. As our co-ordinator, Margy, wrote in the promotion for the workshop: Slow Clothing is the antithesis of fast fashion. It
is a way of thinking about, choosing and wearing clothes so they bring
value, meaning and joy to everyday. We consider the substance of
clothing as part of an holistic approach to living lightly on Earth.

Bee Hotel ~ All bees welcome!
I was visiting our local plant nursery Sungrown Seedlings last week and for some reason I asked if they had any Bee Hotels and blow me down, they did! If you are in Australia you may have seen Sophie Thomson demonstrate how to make one in this episode of Gardening Australia not long ago. That reminded me that I had intended to make one for some time but had never gotten around to it. It was on one of those 'One Day' lists. Do you have one or a few of them?

A great workshop on reducing waste, recycling and worm farming
Last weekend we had our Simple Living Toowoomba 'War on Waste' workshop which was really well attended. I am sure we could have kept going for a few more hours as there was so much interest in this topic.

Good Onya, Onya!
Have you ever heard of Onya products? Well, I must have been living under a rock as I hadn't until I read about them in a recent Simple Living Toowoomba blog post. So I followed the link and did a bit of reading about how the company started up, how their products are 100% recyclable and when possible are made from recycled material such as rPET which is a fabric produced from recycled plastic water bottles.
