This morning we had another excellent workshop presented by Racheal from Birdsong Market Garden as well as Robyn who we roped into speaking as well. Sorry Robyn ;-) The topic was Food Preservation.

Our Simple Living Toowoomba group has a great workshop coming up on the 14th September. Racheal from Birdsong Market Garden will be speaking about food preservation and if any previous workshops on the same topic are any indication, this will be a very popular one.

The good news and the bad news

Firstly the good news as we always prefer good news to bad news don't we? The recent rain has really had an impact on the purple African Daisy that I grew from a cutting I brought back from Mt.Isa. My friend Barb wanted a cutting and I have been trying to get one to take so I have planted another one today and hopefully this one will grow. The plant is looking a lot more healthy for some reason. Perhaps it doesn't like the town water. I did find out its name as my daughter remembered it  and told me and it had a Biblical ring to it ...like Jerusalem or Mt.Zion or something like that but I have forgotten once again but whatever its name it is very pretty. So Barb, hang in there :-)

What a difference a week makes!

It never ceases to amaze me how much a garden changes in just over a week. When looking at the plants each day it seems as if they aren't growing much but you really notice the growth after being away for a while.
