First Simple Living Toowoomba Workshop for 2021

Last year we cancelled our Simple Living Toowoomba workshops in March after COVID-19 reached our Aussie shores.  So we were very excited to be able to resume them this year and today we started off 2021 with an excellent one which was presented by Racheal from Birdsong Market Garden who showed us how to make an array of homemade cleaning products as well as personal products. 

Do I really need this?

As the kitchen and bathroom renovations are now to start at the end of October instead of the beginning of this month and it is too early to start packing up everything in the kitchen, I thought I would sort out a few things in the rest of the house especially the rooms in which we might be having some airconditioning units installed mainly for those 40C days which seem to arrive each summer now. The thought of having tradies traipsing through the rooms is a bit daunting so it is time to get rid of a lot of the excess 'stuff' that I haven't used for years but the problem is....what to throw out!!!

Experimenting with doTERRA Essential Oils

One of the young mums who comes to our Simple Living Toowoomba workshops and who actually has been the demonstrator at some of them, asked me if I could do a blog post on doTERRA essential oils as she has been so impressed that she is now distributor of them. Until recently I have been reluctant to buy essential oils as they are so expensive and you have to use so much of them when making soap which is the main product that I wanted to add them to. However, Racheal told me that these particular oils are top quality as they are therapeutic grade and gave me an Introductory Kit to experiment with as well as another essential oil of choice from what she had in stock.

A lovely end to the day

This morning we had our monthly Simple Living Toowoomba workshop which was the second last one for 2015. It was a lovely morning and, as the State Rose Gardens are on the way home, a visit there was the perfect way to finish off the day.

Once again we have a great and informative Simple Living Toowoomba workshop coming up on the 17th October. There won't be a workshop in September due to the school holidays and the Carnival of Flowers as it will be a busy time for everyone.

While reading Rhonda's blog post about Cleaning the Laundry, I noticed that one of her readers was having trouble with getting rid of mould in her front loader washing machine and that reminded me about when we first bought our front loader.
