This month our Simple Living Toowoomba group held a Plarn and Yarn Workshop which was really well attended. Firstly Kate showed us how to cut plastic bags into Plarn. Then she taught us how to crochet the Plarn into tote bags.

Reverse applique on denim skirt
In a recent post you may have seen the denim skirt that Valda did reverse applique on. As I had a similar skirt from the Op Shop in my wardrobe I thought I would give it a try this week as I have been talking about doing it for months now.

Embroidered jeans
Our Simple Living Toowoomba co-ordinator, Margy and I were brainstorming the other day about the coming year and she showed me a pair of jeans that she had embroidered. They looked fantastic and I would imagine would be so easy to do.

A few days ago I heard about a new Op Shop (Thrift Shop for my Northern Hemisphere readers) in town. Well it was new to me but apparently has been open for a couple of months already. So I called in today to check it out and was pleasantly surprised.

Turn an old pillow case into a bag
When we had our Repurposing Swap on the Down to Earth Forums recently, I was trying to work out what I was going to make for my swap item and came across a tutorial by the very clever Rin from Sew in Love which had instructions on how to turn an old pillowcase into an eco shopping bag.

Have you noticed that since the festive season most of your t-shirts have shrunk for some strange reason. All that pavlova, trifle and custard you ate wouldn't have resulted in a little fat adipose tissue being added to your normally slender frame, would it? Of course not! Plastic bottle bag sealer
If anyone in Australia watches the Better Homes and Gardens TV show, they know that Tara Dennis comes up with some pretty nifty ideas at times and, on a recent show, I saw her demonstrate how to repurpose a plastic bottle as a bag sealer.
