Seeing as it is a new year I thought I had better get motivated and do some organising otherwise the year will be gone before I know it. I thought I would start with the lace I have been storing for years. Some of it is handmade lace which I really have no idea what to do with but don't feel right about giving it to Vinnies as I think it may have been given to me by someone in my hubby's family about forty or so years ago. Anyway, it looks nice and neat at the moment and perhaps I will decide what to do with it during the year.

Summer storms and a new year
As I type this blog post tonight it is raining heavily as the severe storms that were forecast passed through our area late this afternoon and, according to Weatherzone, 33mm has fallen at the airport. I haven't been outside to check our gauge but will do that in the morning and I think it will be quite full judging by the sound on the tin roof. It has been very muggy here which is not all that usual for us but hopefully our farmers are getting some of this liquid gold. I have been learning how to loom knit and have finished my first scarf which will be donated to the homeless once the cold weather hits this year.

Loom Knitting ~ Another craft to learn
Do you remember the old cotton reels with four nails in the top that we used to use many years ago to do French Knitting? Well, recently I saw a friend's post on Instagram where she showed the gorgeous beanies she has been knitting on a loom. I didn't even realise the looms could be used for that purpose.
