I've got mail....from Canada!

On the Down to Earth forum we are having a swap at the moment in which swap partners can decide between themselves what they would like to swap. I know that my Canadian partner makes beautiful buttons from 'Sculpey' polymer clay so I was hoping she would choose to send me some of them. In return I sent her a 'surprise' swap gift which is still on its way to Canada. So I was very excited when I got home today to see a package with a Canadian postmark waiting for me to open.

My swap partner enclosed a note saying that apart from the coloured buttons above......

the buttons are from her 'Lands and Lake' collection .....

which depict the stones on the shore line of the Great Lakes.....

and slices of the maple and pine trees that grow in this area.

I am just amazed at the shapes she has created from polymer clay.  I am sure I will have no trouble using these unique buttons in future projects and they will always remind me of Canada when I look at them. I visited Canada in the 1970s and was struck by the beauty of the mountains and lakes.

I hope my swap partner is as pleased with my choice of gift as I am with hers! What do you think? Aren't these buttons amazing?

  1. What beautiful buttons. I visited Canada too, early 80's, and quite fell in love with the place.
