Before I go.....

I meant to mention in my last blog post that Jes from Strangers and Pilgrims on Earth has written the most fabulous informative eBook called 100 Plus DIY Projects to make with fruit scraps with matching labels. She is having a 48 hour sale and if you put 'loyalreader' in the discount code box you will get the discount when you buy it. I haven't had a chance to read it properly as yet but I can tell it is going to be very interesting and will read some of it on the plane on Wednesday when I head up to the Outback to see my grandchildren....and my daughter and son-in-law too of course....and the new puppy :-) The eBook has 264 pages so it will take a little while to get through it all but I can't wait to start.

Also I read in the latest blog post on Rhonda's Down to Earth that one of her sponsors, Odgers and McClelland is now selling the old fashioned Wire Soap Saver and Suds Maker which is much the same as what we used to use when we were growing up back in the last century. Over the years we have had discussions about these on the Down to Earth Forums as many members were wanting to buy them locally but the only company that seemed to sell them was in New Zealand. So now they are available in Australia which is great. This company sells really good quality items from what I have heard so they should last a long time.

Before I leave I need to make a batch of calendula soap so hopefully it will behave nicely and be ready to unmould before I head down to Greyhound to catch the bus to the Brisbane Airport on Wednesday. In the photo above you can see the change in the colour of my last batch of Oatmeal Stout Soap over a period of four weeks. There is no added colour in this soap but the Oatmeal Stout Fragrance Oil is gradually causing it to darken. Fascinating eh?

Well, that's it from me until I arrive in the North West. Hopefully I will be able to write a couple of blog posts on my iPad if Blogsy is still working properly. I only use it three times a year when I am away from home and usually have to relearn how to use it when I want to write anything. Posts can be written offline which is a bonus but sometimes it takes quite a while to publish it depending on whether an internet connection can be made at the time. Sometimes the internet works and sometimes it doesn't. Go figure!

If you're looking for me I will running after this little fellow!

    1. Good to see you were able to comment, Blinky. Jes emailed to say she tried to but couldn't so I was wondering if some settings had changed in Blogger without me knowing...being so techy and all :-) I can't wait to read her eBook on the plane to tomorrow. It will distract me from the 'food' that will be served up.

    1. Don't I know it, Mr.HM. It doesn't seem all that long ago that their mother was the same age.
