....so that by the end of the year in December...
... it is 'a time to look back and review what we've done, organise end-of-year gatherings, celebrate the holidays, relax and think about what will change next year'. Also included is an alternative chapter order for Northern Hemisphere readers to fit in with their seasons as well as a list of conversions such as liquid/oven/dry weight and length conversions.
There are lots of recipes which are beautifully illustrated and I can't wait to make the Flat Bread shown in the above photos.
Just look at this rolling pin....isn't it great?
Page 300.
On the Down to Earth Simple Living Forums we have been teasing the members about Page 300 and those who are still waiting on their book are wondering what is on that page. LOL! As moderators on the forums we are chuffed that Rhonda has mentioned us on the Acknowledgements page as she thanked us for keeping things running while she was absent for so long writing the book. It was a pleasure and it is great to see the book finally on sale after all that hard work. Believe me, there is a lot that goes into getting a book published that I had never realised before.
So if you are able to afford it at the moment, do buy this inspiring book. QBD had a 12 hour sale last week so I was able to buy it at a good discount. At the time of writing Booktopia has the best price as the book is on sale there at the moment. (12/3/16:Sorry I can't link to Booktopia as it doesn't seem to be working at the moment and redirects to somewhere else. Also the sale price is now a little higher than it was when I wrote the post.)
It is also available at various prices from Book Depository, Fishpond and Angus and Robertson as well as other bookshops around the country. Just check out the Penguin website for other booksellers. The book is available in a Kindle edition from various online sources including QBD and Amazon.

The Simple Home is a perfect companion to Down to Earth and The Simple Life.
Rhonda is still on her book promoting tour and if you live in Victoria and NSW you might be able to see her if she is in your area. Just check out the Penguin website for dates and venues. There are also dates in this post on her blog. Hopefully when she is back in Queensland we will see her here in Toowoomba eventually.
You just might be able to get your book signed as well!
Woo Hoo, it looks like a great book. Off to get my copy.
ReplyDeleteLynda I am sure you will enjoy it thoroughly.

DeleteIt is a beautiful book Chel isn't it? I wonder if Rhonda can do an e-signature on my e-book? See you tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHa ha Barb. That would be a bit tricky.
Delete3/4 the way through mine. It is the perfect compliment to the first book in every way.
ReplyDeletePhil, I would have thought you were too busy with moving to be reading at the moment.
DeleteI like the little "sneak peeks" on your post...I am waiting impatiently for mine to arrive...it's one of those books that I feel will end up much-loved, perhaps with a few splatters on the recipe pages, maybe a turned down corner or two on favourite pages! Flatbreads are definitely on my list of things to make too!
ReplyDeleteIt will certainly be a well loved book, Meg.
DeleteI will be ordering this today...the step by step recipes look awesome. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane
ReplyDeleteBy the way your "booktopia" link isn't working...just thought you should know. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy. I will fix it up later when I am on the PC. Can't do it on the iPad. I am off to our sausage making workshop soon. Thanks for letting me know.
DeleteKathy, I can't link to Booktopia at present for some reason as the link is redirected to somewhere else. I am not sure why.
DeleteExciting.
