It's been a long time

I rarely have anything to write about these days it seems. As it has been so long Blogger seems to have changed too so I am not sure how this post will turn out.

Of course, there have been many changes in the garden too since I last posted in June. Flowers have come and gone like the Everlasting Daisies above.....

...and the beautiful freesias which really don't like the heat that comes with spring these days.

We bought some new freesias last year and they were lovely colours.

I unearthed what I believe to be a Bluebell which is quite stunning.

Now the Alstroemerias are putting on a show and we have four different colours of them. If you ever visit the Royal Hotel in Toowoomba which is a lovely place to have lunch you can see any other different colours of Alstroemerias on the tables at this time of the year.

My hubby had some friends over to help with gardening a couple of months back and one of them took it upon himself to weed the front garden. I didn't realise what had happened until he had pulled out most of my hollyhocks, Flanders poppies and sweet peas. To say I wasn't happy was an understatement but fortunately he wasn't a very good weeder so some of the plants were left behind. Needless to say, he won't be 'helping' any time soon.

The possums continue to wreak havoc in the veggie garden which is a tad disheartening so I will try to start some gardens on the other side of the property in the hope that they won't find any veggie seedlings.

I didn't attend any Carnival of Flowers events this year as I couldn't be bothered trying to find a place to park my car as thousands of tourists flock to our city to see the parks and gardens. We had lovely weather apart from a little rain in the first week but now it is hot already and the garden could do with a good drink.

If you are in the area next month the Bush Christmas Exhibition is on from the 19-28th November and it is really worth going to if you have time.

Have a really great weekend and keep well and happy.
