Seeing as we are already in December I thought I would remind any readers who are crafty that I did a blog post a while back named Christmas Gift Ideas in case you want to make a couple of quick homemade gifts.
We had a very wet November with 171mm falling here but just yesterday
South East Queensland was hammered by storms causing flash flooding even in Brisbane's CBD. A few people got caught out in their cars which must have been scary. Thank goodness for the rescue teams.
I know hydrangeas like a lot of water but I was a bit concerned about my new...
...and expensive Avantgarde Hydrangea as it is growing in a pot and we had had a lot of rain...
...but it finally flowered and looked fantastic. Now I am waiting for more flowers.
A friend has given me several different lillies over the years and this year I thought that perhaps they had rotted in all the rain but finally the purple lily appeared...
...as well as four yellow lillies. I like having friends with green thumbs.
In case I don't get back to my blog before Christmas I want to wish everyone the blessings of the season and I hope you will have friends or family around you. As usual it will be a quiet day here with just my hubby and my sister here. She turns 88 next year so is getting on. This time of the year can be very lonely so big hugs to all those who need them.
Hello Chel, I just love hydrangea, so many new varieties too. The gardens are looking so lovely after the rain, but the weeds are getting busy too. We too will be having a quiet Christmas with my Dad who is 86. Stay well. Barb x
ReplyDeleteHi Barb. Good to hear from you. I hope you are keeping well and that your Dad is okay. Have a Happy Christmas. Chel
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Christmas hopefully it's not going to be super hot, I haven't looked at the forecast yet or even if they can predict that far out. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog over the years, photos are few and far between now with my kiddies grown into young adults. Have a great week. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane

ReplyDeleteHi Chel, I have decided to shut down my blog permanently. I may pop in every now and then to visit yours. Wishing you a wonderful New Year.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear you are shutting down your blog. I think Instagram her taken over from blogs as it is so quick and easy. I hope you will pop in to say hi now and again. Chel
